So you leave the highway, following what the GPS said, driving through the countryside of York County, you might think you are lost but eventually you come to the tiny downtown of Glenn Rock. Parking is along the railroad tracks. The decor is very country homey, and I love the decoration and the adaptive reuse of the space. Beer selection is mostly the major boring brands, but get a +1 because they had Shiner from Texas. Salad had much to be desired but was decent and edible. I had the Grouper for dinner and it was cooked well, and was not drowning in butter as I feared but a light drizzle to accent the fish, and not overpower it. The best part however was the dessert which was a locally produced silky creamy Delicious Carman's Ice Cream. For the locals its probably a 5 star, but compared to the rest I'd give it three, and I'd go back if I was in the area.

I was attracted in to this restaurant by its old factory building ambiance which is really neat. The food is also very good. Maybe a bit too good for Glen Rock. I think the owners are trying a bit too hard to be a fancy formal restaurant. Sure, if this restaurant were in some trendy area of a big city it would be fine. At dinner time, the waiter just acted way too formally compared to what I wanted. The "mood lighting" was way too freaking dark. Dinner prices are fairly high. Lunch is the better time to come. Lunch prices are impressively reasonable, the lunch menu is more expansive, and the natural light actually allows you to see what you are eating. Also, the wait staff were much more casual acting. I sure hope this place can stay in business, because the food is great and so is the building. I just fear that they will go under. Glen Rock is not a big town and I don't think it will support a "fancy" restaurant. Message to the owner: please keep the great food and tone down the formality a bit. Message to potential customers... try it out now in case it is not around long.

We had a great time on a recent visit. The Inn is a very cool building. The fountain room is just lovely with a 20-foot high ceiling in what feels like a indoor courtyard. We had dinner in the bar area. I've heard that in the evening, it can get really loud because of the live music, but we were there before the band. My bf had the angry burger and ordered it medium-rare. It came out perfect and it was very good quality beef. I had the NY strip and it was one of the better steaks I've had. We also succumbed to our ridiculous need to stuff ourselves silly and ordered a slice of the peanut-butter pie to share. It was delicious! We'll definitely go back to enjoy another evening

Its been many years since I have eaten here and decided to give them a try with my family. We ate inside the bar and it was a cozy atmosphere, service was good and the beer selection was great. Lots of good craft beers on tap and in bottle. I ordered from the brunch menu and got the crab and shroom omelet with mushrooms, it was just OK. Only maybe 2 mushrooms in it and couldn't barely taste the crab, the accompanying home fries were a joke, cold, stale and hard to swallow. My wife ordered the burger per the waitresses suggestion and the burger was atrocious. It was so terribly overcooked it was hard to eat and the bread should have been served to ducks it was so stale. She cut it into quarters and ate one bite and we tossed the rest out. My son ordered Mac and Cheese and it was Stouffers finest and was the only thing edible so we ate that. I would go back and sit at the bar and have a beer but that's about it.

Lunch: Excellent cream of crab soup. Solid sandwich each of us ordered: chicken imperial (chicken breast, topped w/crab meat, melted swiss, tomato & lettuce. Fries were fine. Portion size was not huge, which i say is a plus. I was satisfied though mom-in-law felt the BBQ salmon salad portion was way too small (I agree). Decent beer selection on draft w/good seasonal micros. This is my first time in the dining room as we typically eat outside after rail trail or visit w/family. Worth a return visit.

Great beer selection; exactly what we needed after a ten mile bike ride. Server was fast, pleasant and efficient. Food was awesome. I had the cranberry chicken salad, the other half had the patty melt and just said again "my god that was delicious." Ok, we were really really hungry so any food would have hit the spot, but I suspect this place will be a mandatory stop while cycling on the Heritage Trail which runs right next to the beer garden.

Adorable, period-style interior. The food was good. I got the vegetarian sandwich on bread which was tasty & my friend got the Thanksgiving leftover sandwich which she enjoyed. Our waitress was friendly. Food took a bit to be prepared & brought out but it was all worth it.

This place is for rednecks that don't know where to go for nice restaurants. The food have been very inconsistent over the three times I wasted my money. When I went to the bar customers gripping the F bomb left and right and not one employee said a word to this gormless trumpery. The rooms upstairs are from the 60's. All old paneling. I'm not sure where to begin. Let's start at the end: Our check, for a party of 2 was $80! I'm no stranger to paying that much for a good meal, but in Glen Rock!? My $22 single chicken breast tasted good, but was incredibly over priced for what it was. I opted for the parmesan risotto which was sticky and undercooked, and the roasted potatoes served with ketchup? This place was super confusing. We were sat in the dining room at 630 on Sunday, and we were the ONLY table sat the whole hour we were there. White table cloths, cloth napkins, and the menu prices made me think this was almost fine-dining, but our dinner was served with mismatched silverware, on dollar store plates (that I have at home) and the aforementioned ketchup in plastic ramekins. When your paying almost top dollar, it's for the experience not just the food and with that being said, I was severely disappointed. Not sure we'll be back anytime soon.

Well, one last try. We were escorted to the outside patio by the bartender. The waitress came out after 10 minutes and lectured us on why we should check-in with the restaurant before we seat ourselves outside. After we mentioned that we were seated by staff, she started complaining how no one tells her anything. We placed our drink and meal order. After about another 15 minutes, we got our appetizers and the waitress asked us if we were ready to order. Again, we had ordered our main courses when we ordered the appetizers. She forgot and she then placed the order. When I wanted another of the same beer, I got a totally different beer. Just drank it anyway. Food wasn't too bad except not as generous portions as I am used to from the past. Not worth the price. We finally give up. This restaurant will close shortly. No way this type of service is acceptable.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner here. We both felt the Mill Crab dip was the best we've ever had. It was a nice size portion and our server even brought us additional toasted bread slices that come with it. My NY Strip was superb. Cooked exactly to my medium-rare order, it had just the right amount of char that made this the best steak I've ever eaten. Server was pleasant and extremely efficient, making our outside dinning a truly memorable occasion. Looking forward to returning.

Recently dined here for dinner, and I had their orange roughy special. It might be one of the worst meals I have had in the last 5 years. It featured one small piece of fish, maybe 4 oz. Cold rice, and cold vegetables. The French onion soup as a starter was ok. Sorry, but it is obvious that serving high quality food here is no longer a priority. The server was very nice and was trying her best. Perhaps it was on off night. I am not sure I would give it another try.

I can only vouch for the Angry Texan burger. I have looked high and low for a great burger for several years in central PA with NO luck, until I happened upon the Mill Inn after a bike ride on the Rails to Trails path. Whoever was in the kitchen that day impressed the living heck of me. Best burger outside of downtown Boston you're likely to find.

I am so mad I have to write this review. I REALLY wanted this place to be my new favorite restaurant... :-( Ok...so I went there with a group of my friends for my birthday because the atmosphere of the place is KICK A**! It's in an old mill, and the decor and architecture is to die for! And now the bad part: THE SERVICE! First of all, my friends and I are all servers so we know the business. If the kitchen is out of something, the server is supposed to inform the guests of this so as to prevent them being disappointed if they order something that is unavailable. Well, our server allowed us to order things that were unavilable...twice, and used a tone as if he was criticizing us for making these selections. I said, "why didn't you just tell us that these things were unavailable earlier?" His response: "you didn't ask me." Great, I didn't know it was my job to walk you through this. Secondly, he seemed to be avoiding us for most of the night and it was hard to get his attention when he was fixing a table right next to us (we were the only people in there, so he wasn't busy with another customer). It seemed like he was reluctant to talk to us. To be honest, I think it was because we were all relatively young and because we were all of various ethnicites (asian, black, indian, latino, white). I guess this guy didn't think we would leave him a good tip so he gave us bad service. Also, we asked him what Pinnacle vodka flavors he had and he stared at us for a few seconds like he hated every second of speaking with us and then asked, "what's pinnacle?" to which we replied, "ask the bartender, he will probably know." to which he replied, "I am the bar manager and I don't think we have it." WOW....bar manager who is unfamiliar with popular vodka brands and who is giving us the worst service we've ever had in our 22-30 years of life. Whatever. This guy was a 50 something white guy. Steer clear. And the food...I really wasn't able to enjoy much of it because I was hungover and nothing seemed appetizing but my friends got the filet mignon and said it was good...the fried goat cheese balls were good (but how can you mess those up?). One piece of constructive criticism for this place would be to maybe offer house butter and better rolls and salads. In a typical meal, these are the things that set the tone for the remainder of the courses. They have individually packeted butter (which was cold, so I couldn't spread it) and blah bread. Also, the salads use too much ice berg lettuce for my liking. The salad reminded me of something out of the local pizza shop. Despite these things...I will be back again to try out appetizers and the bar scene (because I want to like this place SOOOO bad!!!) but I probably won't be dining there again. Be more like the Milton Inn or Oregon Grill. lol

Very interesting place nestled in a very small town location. I ordered some a duck and risotto dish which was pretty good, not quite up to par with the atmosphere of the place, but surely adequate for the location. Just not such a good value for the price. There was a harper there which added a very unique mood. Worth a visit, if you are willing to shell out the money.

Great service, excellent menu. A favorite for dinner or brunch... Well worth going out of your way for. And it's in a pre- civil war mill, also cool.
